Kalamaki Beach

Kalamaki is located in the southern side of Crete, very close to Matala and Agia Galini. It is known for its extremely long beach ( 5 kilometers ), as well as for its protected areas for the Kareta Kareta turtles.

During the summer months, the area bursts with life due to its constantly growing tourist population, which it has been attracting over the last few years. This is no surprise considering its crystal clear beach and the breathtaking sunsets that it offers.

There is an abundance of bars and taverns in which you can enjoy your drink and delicious traditional dishes with fresh seafood.

A few meters away there is one of the few official nudist beaches, Kommos Beach.
In the surrounding area, flea markets are held every Friday in Tymbaki, as well as every Saturday in Moires and on Sundays in Kamilari. There, you can get a taste of the area’s remarkable culture.
